Ladies: Do you ever feel embarrased of your own gender?

Sometimes I see how some other women (I am a woman myself) behave, or things they do or say, and I just feel so embarrased of sharing the same gender!! I mean, I don't think we all are the same, but I totally understand why men sometimes think all women are crazy and mean...some I know really are...

What do you think?? what can we do to change that image?? or at least not let it affect us??

No offenses, pleeeease!!! If you don't like my question, just don't answer, ok? Thanks!

It's not just women. I'm embarrassed for my gender pretty often myself. Men can be disgusting without caring, and we can be just as petty as any woman, but it's the way some men treat their women and children that really pisses me off. Everything from Deadbeat Dads to abusers. Rapists, spousal abuse and child neglect and abuse are the worst crimes you can commit in my opinion. Unfortunately most of those crimes are committed by my gender. I'm not saying women are perfect but God did seem to give them a lot more respect for life. The worst fight I ever got into (almost got cut with a big knife) was when I stepped in between a man and the woman he was abusing. You know what I'd do it again. I just wish I had really hurt the B@$terd.

Great question and thanks for letting me vent.

I get what you mean! I see girls do stupid things sometimes, or say things that shouldn't be said...and it's like, just respect yourself...not all girls act like that, it makes us look bad.
Yes, when you see them do things or get things by their sex or playing dumb. Or how some dress kinda trashy. and some how they talk.. the %26quot;F%26quot; word is about every other word when they talk.
I'm not embarrassed to be a woman. Whether you're a man or a woman, there are idiots of both genders.
When I see young women in skirts that are basically showing half their butt and shirts that wouldn't even fit my 4 year old nephew yes I'm embarrassed for them.

Women NEED to have a lot of self respect if they ever expect a man to respect them. A lot of women I see are giving off the idea that they don't care, they are stupid, they're going no where in life and are okay with that.

It's sad.

No man is going to want a woman who is pretty much saying she's a failure and isn't even going to try.
