If your partner kisses your back, does that get you hotter, colder, or really no change at all

Just curious. I happen to be one who likes to kiss all over my partner's body, but I know some aren't into it.

How do you feel about your partner kissing your back, or is it more a gender thing (most Women like it, most Men don't)?

Thanks for adding to my sampling.
If your partner kisses your back, does that get you hotter, colder, or really no change at all
it doesn't make a much difference to me but i do like it and my bf enjoys it it a lot. he loves it!(:
If your partner kisses your back, does that get you hotter, colder, or really no change at all
uhm...
soft kisses back of my neck ..does it for me
A bit of happiness, not cold at all.

Well... I can tell you that we both enjoy it.
I really like what you said. It would get me hotter. Sadly, it's been a long time. But yes I sure did enjoy it. hugs
My b/f and me love it...he likes the most when I bite it softly...it turns him on quick.
One bit of me responds to being kissed....not saying which bit though
Both of us enjoy it... Right now I don't enjoy being touched period...I feel really bad so maybe after the drugs wear off... And I'm threw with the anti-biotics I'll be in the mood
I find it most sensous and get aroused greatly if get kissed on my back. Actually I am for foreplay and enjoy it more than main act. I like to be kissed and bitten in back particularly lower back.
I got hot just reading the question. I'm very sensitive to touch, so it makes me hot of course.
Actually, I've done it to more women than have done it to me. What about equal rights?!
Kissing my back just tickles. I like it better when he softly breaths on my neck and lightly kisses my neck. OOohhh that's the best.

  • Power of Good Intention?

Some of your have heard or read about the effect of possessing such a belief/power which some philosophical minds argue is the key/shortcut for the few successful people who affect the the rest of society. Such minds claim it doesn't matter how old you are or what gender you are or what race you are. Does this work? How can you change your belief system to increase your success in your personal and profession life? For men, I'd have say it the mind, personality and character that wins peole and success. Being in shape, and physically healthy can help, but it's the mind that knows how to use such physical health to one's advantage. I would like to hear some success story.

Not sure if this the type of thing your looking for

Old Gender Roles With Your Dinner? ?

Is all this ridiculous or not?

    AND

How do you think restaurants should treat their customers with respect to gender?

    Comments?

%26quot;TO Jenny Moon, the whole business of giving menus to women before men, taking orders from women before men and clearing women’s plates first just didn’t make sense, not in the East Village in 2008.

So, as she readied Apiary for its recent opening there, she and other managers told servers not to sweat that sort of thing. And they made sure the restaurant’s order-tracking software followed suit.

At most upscale restaurants such software lets servers note both the position at a table to which a dish is going and whether the diner is female, so the food’s couriers can plot to present dishes in a gender-conscious sequence.

For instance, servers at some restaurants can electronically punch in “L” for “lady.” But Apiary installed its software without that option. Maybe a gentleman’s dish would be set down ahead of his female companion’s. Would anyone really care?

Yes, as Ms. Moon said she learned when reading a customer comment card one night. “Serve ladies first!” it said.

Ms. Moon, one of Apiary’s principal owners, wasn’t moved to change the software. But she did tell servers that they could and should start considering gender, at least sometimes.

“Read the table,” she told them, “and if it seems like they would appreciate ladies being served first, just do it.”

    Whole article at:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/08/dining…

Although the goal in many public places and in much of public life is to treat men and women equally, most upscale restaurants haven’t reached that point.
Old Gender Roles With Your Dinner? ?
That is what is great about a free market. A restaurant is not required to serve ladies first. Nor is anyone offended by serving males first required to visit the establishment.

    So this AKA feminist states:

%26quot;Read the table,” she told them, “and if it seems like they would appreciate ladies being served first, just do it.”

So she approves that the servers must prejudge people. That is even sicker than the original question.

Old Gender Roles With Your Dinner? ?
Wow do they really do that? How bizarely extreme to have a whole computer option for it! When I eat out with friends, it all just sort of gets plonked down at once - but next time I will watch more carefully. Very interesting :-)
do they give the ladies menus witout prices

ive seen that i didnt like it but i didnt say anything

    it made me feel special
No ladies first. Let them wait their turn in restaurants and stand up on the bus and train like everybody else.
Lol! Really? How ridiculous. I couldn't care whether I get my meal before or after my partner (so long as they arrive at roughly the same time so we can eat together). When we eat out mine certainly doesn't always come first.
There needs to be an end to the 'serve ladies first'. End it now. Serve whoever's dinner is ready first, first. I am hoping that this old rule dies out soon.
I don't care who gets their food first, as long as we can eat! What happened to the sense of priorities at this joint?
In answering your question : I would say that a restaurant should serve it's customers, without taking gender into consideration. Once gender pops up in the busboy's mind or the customer's minds, then the accusations of bias arise.

Yawn. Why are your questions always boring? And what's the point in asking a 250 line question where your actual question is just two lines?

Edit : TD's for saying that restaurants shouldn't consider gender? NICE ! :-D
Well, it's hard to get bent out of shape over this.

As Miss Manners often says, the ways one is used to have a charm to them; violating them is jarring.

Myself, I wouldn't notice, and didn't even realize there was a thing about serving females first.

But, until the oldest generation is gone, there probably are a lot of people who care.

Social life is different -- the little meaningless gestures are just that: meaningless.

Noticing people's sex in the business world is the problem. (The example is social, since most people dine out to socialize; that is, the customers are engaged in social behavior, though the servers are doingbusiness.)
I don't think enough people care about that nowadays, with perhaps the exceptions of seniors. And maybe I'm being ageist, but a brand new restaurant in the East Village doesn't seem like it's going to be a cluster spot for seniors. I think they should stick to their guns. Unless we actively take steps to get rid of this %26quot;ladies first%26quot; mentality, it won't go away.
I really don't care who is served first, but I do not want to order wine and have it given to my husband for tasting and %26quot;approval%26quot;. I do not want to receive a menu without prices on it.

I also have noticed that I get better service with my guy rather than a girlfriend if I am at a new place. I am a VERY generous tipper... especially if I go in somewhere alone (I know they need the tips)... it's sad that people would shoot themselves in the foot by treating me like they've already assumed I'm a bad tipper.

    1. I've always liked baby names, and I like to help people come up with them and pick them out.

    2. I remember being 3 or 4, staying up when I was supposed to be in bed asleep (at 9 pm), and writing out what I wanted to name my son if I had one, by the hall light. I've always wanted kids, my biggest dream in life, I can't wait until I get married and have some of my own.

    3. I forget how I got into them, but I did, just happened.

    4. My favourites change all the time, I do have some definite set faves, mostly for if I have a little guy, but I'm trying to not get too attached to too many names. I want my future wife to have a say and help in the decision process too.

    5. I updated mine a little today, my top names haven't changed in about 2 years though, which is a record. Used to be, especially when I was in high school, I'd have new favourites every few months.

    1. I'm interested in baby names, and vaguely appalled at the new names that are cropping up these days.

    2. Probably a long time ago; I'm a writer, so names are a natural interest for me.

    2. When I was approaching my preteen years, I think. About 11ish :)

    3. My mother had a baby name book from when she was pregnant with my brother Ethan, and I used to look through it, listing names I liked for story characters (writing is my passion). I vividly remember the first name combination I created - Lexi Belle - for a character from a story I was writing, called Possessed :)

    4.

    Serena; Delilah; Carolina; Vivienne; Annabelle

    Nathaniel; Sebastian; Hunter; Adam; Caden

    5.

Yesterday, it needed cleaning up :) I removed some of the names I wasn't a fan of, and rearranged my favourite combinations.

I have to answer a questionaire thing kind of like this for my health class and I wanted to see how other teens would fill it out.
Teens what kind of eater are you?
    1) Do you eat healthy?

~ I would like to claim that I do because I%26#039;m a vegan with a love for fruit, nuts and other %26quot;whole foods,%26quot; and I avoid highly processed and empty-substance things like white bread, but in truth, I lead such a fast-paced life I don%26#039;t carve out the time to properly nourish it. I will be so consumed with a painting or dance I%26#039;m working on, or focused on things I need to check off my to-list that I%26#039;ll forget that eating lunch should have been on it. I was very determined to gain weight last year and met with a nutritionist for guidance, but got dismayed when I lost it anyway. I have an absurdly fast metabolism. If I was grading my eating habits honestly, I would give myself a B minus. It%26#039;s not atrocious, but there%26#039;s a definite need for improvement.

    2) Do you like to try new things?

~ To an extent. I travel frequently and have a palette open to experimentation, but I%26#039;m cautious about foods that might contain meat. When I%26#039;m abroad I will eat dairy because it%26#039;s practically impossible to go totally vegan in many places, but the thought of eating meat is repulsive to me.

    3) What do you eat the most of each week?

~ Avocados, soy milk, bananas, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, apples, clementines, soy cheese, soy kefir, soy yogurt, walnuts, almonds, kale, green beans, eggplant, agave nectar, whole grain pasta and bread, hummus, pita chips, Weetabix, this insanely awesome vegan brownie mix, coconut milk (I use it to make soup), sweet potatoes, zucchini, acai, lentils and beans.

    4) Have you ever had a ED?

~ No. As I explained above, I need to put in more of an effort to gain weight and eat better, but I have never had an ED.

    5) Are you a vegetarian or do you eat meat

~ I became a vegetarian at the age of 10 and a vegan just before turning 16.

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Like weird combinations I mean.

~ I love almond butter and banana sandwiches drizzled with agave nectar, avocado, banana and soy cheese crepes, and grilled pineapple topped with powder sugar and nutella. I frequently combine things others find bizarre, but I think are fantastic.

    7) What did you eat today?

~ My dad made me scrumptious peanut butter and vegan chocolate pancakes for breakfast and I had them with coffee and a pear. For lunch I had Thai lemongrass soup, a salad, and brown rice topped with zucchini at a tiny hole-in-the-wall gem my friend took me to, and for dinner I had one of my funky combination salads (chopped apples and red onions mixed with avocado, walnuts, dried cranberries, soy cheese, olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette), pita bread with hummus, and a baked potato. I had banana chips and red tea for an evening snack. I actually did a decent job today eating.

    8) Are you trying to change your weight?

~ Yes, I would like to gain 20 pounds.

    9) What%26#039;s your favorite food?

~ Fresh squeezed pomegranate and orange juice, and grilled pineapple dusted with powder sugar.

    10) Do you drink coffee?

    ~ Yes. I%26#039;m a coffee fiend.

    11) Do you have to eat special things because your religion?

    ~ No.

    12) Do you have any allergies?

~ Thankfully I do not. My best friend is allergic to gluten and almonds, and I know how challenging it can for her.

    13 ) Age / Gender / Weight / Height?

    ~ 17 / Female / 110 / 5.9

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight?

~ The media is a scape goat for eating disorders, low self esteem, and body dysmorphic issues, but yet when Jessica Simpson gained weight the general public was far crueler to her. The media portrays stick-thin girls, and the general public attacks them too. Yes, the media has made me want to gain weight because I%26#039;m tired of people thinking that all skinny girls are the victims of it.

    ~ Peace

I don%26#039;t eat meat very often, but I don%26#039;t call myself vegetarian.

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Like weird combinations I mean.

Lots of weird things. For example, cold cooked broccoli covered in mustard and rolled in crushed saltine crackers, then covered in salt.

    7) What did you eat today?

So much. Let%26#039;s see... pineapple, a donut, a biscuit, cheese, a piece of pizza, strawberries, frozen yogurt, oreos, a turkey sandwich, bread, oranges, tangelos, coffee, hummus, pita bread, water, tylenol, nuts, yogurt, granola, chips, crackers, biscotti, cookies, fruity pebbles, and probably more. I don%26#039;t remember.

Yes. Thinner and thinner and thinner.

    Peaches

    10) Do you drink coffee?

    I%26#039;m an addict.

    11) Do you have to eat special things because your religion?

Not really. Every Sunday I eat a host and wine for Communion (I%26#039;m Catholic) but that%26#039;s pretty much it.

    12) Do you have any allergies?

    Nope.

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight?

-No, its for my benefit and me only
    1) Do you eat healthy? - For the most part. My usual daily diet is:

    Breakfast:

    - 1 boiled egg

    - 2 pieces of Weight Watchers bread with 1/2 tsp of soy butter

    - 1 cup of fat free milk

    - 1 serving of fruit

    - 1/2 a Genisoy bar (I should replace that with something else)

    Lunch:

    - 1 banana

    - 1 Babybel Light cheese

    Dinner:

    - 1 piece of tuna

    - 2 cups raw baby spinach

    - 1 serving of fruit mixed with the baby spinach

    - 1 cup fat free milk

    - 2 teaspoons flaxseed oil

I also drink a lot of water and green tea (no caffeine, and I drink it plain) every day.

I don%26#039;t eat or drink anything more or less than what I listed.

    2) Do you like to try new things? - Yes.

    3) What do you eat the most of each week? - Fruits and vegetables.

    4) Have you ever had a ED? - No.

    5) Are you a vegetarian or do you eat meat - I eat fish and poultry, but no other meats.

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Like weird combinations I mean. - Not sure.

    7) What did you eat today? - I let myself go, today. LOL I had a baby spinach and strawberry and blueberry salad, some chocolate stuff, toast, a boiled egg, etc. I ate more than that but I don%26#039;t feel like writing it all down.

    10) Do you drink coffee? - No. Well, occassionally. Maybe once every two or three months.

    11) Do you have to eat special things because your religion? - I%26#039;m an atheist, so no.

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight? - No. I just want to be happy with the way I look for myself. The media is too fake and idealistic. I don%26#039;t expect to look like someone who hires personal chefs and trainers, and has professional make-up artists. Not to mention that pretty much all photos in magazines, ads, etc. are photoshopped.

I actually am also very self-conscious and have low self-esteem because I have social anxiety disorder, but I still wouldn%26#039;t say the media affects me.
I%26#039;m only 13, and I weigh the most out of anyone on here so far. Ha, that really does a lot for my self-esteem.

    1) Do you eat healthy?

    13 ) Age / Gender / Weight / Height?

    16/Female/8st./5ft4

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight?

    Not always.
    1) Do you eat healthy? I would like to think I eat pretty healthily but if I examined my diet thoroughly I%26#039;m pretty sure that%26#039;s not entirely true. Also, I go through little phases. There will be weeks when I only eat raw vegan food and then the next week I completely binge on dairy-rich, over processed junk food.

    2) Do you like to try new things? Yes I love to! Especially food from other countries. Like Skylark said though, I am always weary of my food having meat in it, particularly when I travel overseas.

    3) What do you eat the most of each week? Bananas, Apples, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese, Granola Bars, Bread, Chocolate, Nuts, Yogurt.

    4) Have you ever had a ED? Never a full fledged eating disorder. I have struggled with border line anorexia for a while though as I%26#039;ve always been very self conscience of my body.

    5) Are you a vegetarian or do you eat meat: I%26#039;m a vegetarian.

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Apparently peanut butter and banana sandwiches are strange? I love them though! I can eat hummus and pesto on basically anything, too; like sandwiches, pizza and veggies.

    7) What did you eat today? An apple pastry, cheese and pesto sandwich on whole grain role and a banana.

    8) Are you trying to change your weight? Not really. I%26#039;ve finally just gotten comfortable with it.

    9) What%26#039;s your favorite food? Technically it%26#039;s a spread, but I love hummus to death! I also adore vegetable noodle soups in the winter, raspberry Alpine granola bars, mint chocolate chip ice cream and potato pancakes.

    10) Do you drink coffee? Yes but only a couple of times a week, even though I love it.

    11) Do you have to eat special things because your religion? No.

    12) Do you have any allergies? Thankfully not really. However I%26#039;ve just developed some problems with my stomach acid. It%26#039;s not consistent but usually when I eat a good amount of acidic food or drink (such as tomato soup, tomato sauce, or large portions of orange juice) I%26#039;m up vomiting all night.

    13 ) Age / Gender / Weight / Height? 15, female, 106 lb, 5%26#039;5%26#039;%26#039;.

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight? I think the media is a lame scape goat for eating disorders and other self image problems. Even though I have been there before, I know that I only have myself to blame. Although seeing stick thin models in every issue of Vogue doesn%26#039;t help either....did I just contradict myself?
    1) Do you eat healthy?

    Nowdays, mostly, yes :)

    2) Do you like to try new things?

Depends on what it looks/smells like and what people say it%26#039;s like

    3) What do you eat the most of each week?

Try to eat healthy, sandwhiches for lunch, drink water through the day, 1-2 LOW CAL snacks, dinner.. mostly weight watchers

    A what?

    5) Are you a vegetarian or do you eat meat

    Meat Eater

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Like weird combinations I mean

Sausage and melted cheese sandwhiches :)

    7) What did you eat today?

Sandwhich, bowl of crunchy nut w/ semi skimmed milk, water, weight watchers cottage pie w/ chips, crisps (low cal), marshmallow and wafer (low cal), mousse (low cal) :]

    8) Are you trying to change your weight?

Yep, on a diet like last year :)

    KFC :)

    10) Do you drink coffee?

    Nope

    Nope, not religous

    Not that I know of

    13 ) Age / Gender / Weight / Height?

    15 next week, female, 134lbs, 5%26quot;2

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight?

A little, but no one likes a fat girl.
    1) Do you eat healthy?

hmm i would give myself a 6/10. During my junior year of high school i almost never ate during school hours because i was at a new school and was absolutely miserable but now I do try to make an effort to eat healthily. Usually I%26#039;m too preoccupied too even think about food and when i do eat, i eat like a bird. I have come to the conclusion that my stomach is the size of my thumb. Perhaps the result of my severe pickiness and distaste for food throughout my childhood. People seriously thought I had an ED when I was like 6

    2) Do you like to try new things?

Yes! I am passionate about travel and enjoy the foods that other cultures have to offer. You can%26#039;t experience the complete difference in worlds unless you have tried their cuisine. I am a vegetarian and have dabbled in veganism so still, I have to be cautious about what%26#039;s actually in my food and that is a challenge.

    3) What do you eat the most of each week?

Nutella, cashews, pistachios, almonds, whatever they%26#039;re selling at this delicious bakery by my house, pasta, strawberry jam, white honey, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, blood oranges, larabars, pomegranate juice, green tea, dark chocolate, brie, hummus, pesto

    4) Have you ever had a ED?

I may have been borderline at some point (at a young age I heard one of my relatives mentioning it but I didn%26#039;t know what an ED was at the time) but apparently not so severe that I had to be taken to a doctor

    5) Are you a vegetarian or do you eat meat

I am a vegetarian. I don%26#039;t miss meat because compared to normal eaters I ate little to nothing of meat

    6) What weird things do you like to eat? Like weird combinations I mean.

I like soy chorizo on pita chips with sun-dried tomato pesto and I too, love banana and peanut butter sandwiches mmm. I also like unusual salads and pastas

    7) What did you eat today?

a to-die-for chocolate chip cookie from this charming bakery by my house, greek yogurt with strawberry jam, 2 oranges, an apple, thai red curry with fried rice, and pomegranate seeds

    8) Are you trying to change your weight?

Yes, I%26#039;ve been trying to gain 10-15 pounds and stay that way. Sometimes my goal is nearly accomplished but it never remains. Also, after gaining more than 12lbs, I still looked the same

    9) What%26#039;s your favorite food?

that%26#039;s a hard one. Maybe an amazing inari they make at this hidden gem korean restaurant. Or just nutella if that counts

    10) Do you drink coffee?

I love coffee. I try not to drink it too much but I%26#039;m probably already addicted anyway

    11) Do you have to eat special things because your religion?

I don%26#039;t have to eat special things but when I was 12 (I became a vegetarian when I was 14) I decided to eliminate red meat from my diet when my grandmother told me a story about her grandfather who was a travel enthusiast. He had embarked on a spiritual journey in the jungles of India when he was bitten by a cobra (apologies if I make it sound unreal or comical. This is, in fact, a completely true story) and a hindu who was passing, healed him with an herbal remedy. My gg-grandfather %26quot;repayed%26quot; him by promising no consumption of beef in his household because the cow is symbolic of life in the religion. His family and his grandchildren continued the tradition but it for some reason came to a halt afterwards so I chose to continue it.

    12) Do you have any allergies?

I don%26#039;t think so but I always sneeze when I eat chocolate. It%26#039;s inevitable

    13 ) Age / Gender / Weight / Height?

    18, female, 110+, 5.10

    14) Does the media make you want to change your weight?

Of course it does. There is no understanding of the concept %26quot;healthy%26quot; to tabloids and gossip sites. Have you ever read or heard: %26quot;she%26#039;s looking quite healthy these days%26quot;? No, probably not. There is an intangible bar set for perfection; it cannot be reached and no one is good enough or for that matter, no one is criticized enough. I thinks it%26#039;s absolutely absurb and wonder if it is ever possible to simply not have a standard for beauty. You%26#039;re either the target of scrutiny or the one scrutinizing. Nevertheless, it does affect me

Questions about Fable II. Please answer quickly!?

How can you change the gender of your character? And a quick and cheap way to become good?? Please answer.
Questions about Fable II. Please answer quickly!?
You can change your gender only at the end of the game when you have bought Castle Fairfax and completed the dungeon there.

As for being good some foods increase your purity but i would recomend doing the %26quot;free the slaves%26quot; quests. That way you get experience, renown and back on the side of righteousness.

The easy option is donating a shed load of cash at the temple of light (presuming you weren't supremely evil and destroyed it!)
Questions about Fable II. Please answer quickly!?
you choose at the beginning you cant change, and if you are good at reptitive tasks work for the blacksmith for a while to make tons of money, chains earn you more money, remember that.
Towards the end of the game you have the option to change your gender by drinking a potion. Remember-- this is not reversable!

If you want to become good quickly just go and donate huge amounts of money to the temple of light.
For your first question, you can't, for your next question, do quests and good deeds for others
as forchanging your gender there are vendors that sell a potion that does this. . the same goes for becoming good also try eating tofu that some vendors sell. ARION

How would you feel if your significant other is?

How would you feel if your significant other used to be the same gender but changed into the opposite gender? How would you feel about your significant other then? and what would you do to him or her?
How would you feel if your significant other is?
three words bye bye baby your not worth the trouble
How would you feel if your significant other is?
so, your boyfriend is now your girlfriend?? as long as you don't feel like you are missing out on something sexually, since you are attracted to men and not women.... then it should work out ok I guess. He/She is still the same person, regardless of looks. So it's all up to you!

I think it would be different if a couple were of oposite sex, male and female, and one turned into the other. A much more difficult senario I think.

I think you can work with this one! Good luck!
i would find that quite strange for my liking. but if you truely love that person before you found out that they were of the same gender as you then you have to go off of your own instincts. and can you live with it for the rest of your life even if others find out about it.

LOL that%26#039;s hilarious! You only forgot 2 mention that when someone says that they missed the 24 bus, you tell them to take the 12 bus twice.

How would you feel if your significant other is?
If my significant other use to be a girl and she is now a man and i just found out....

    1. I would be a bit freaked, confused.

    2. i would still love the person

    3. But... I would not stay with the person. I really want children. I mean if you were a girl and now a guy you dont have the opposite reproductive parts i need. I dont want to adopt or have some random sperm in me. I want to marry the man of my children. Having my own children is something i really want. Its non-negotiable.
How would you feel if your significant other is?
I certainly would NOT feel I was w/the SAME person I first fell in love with...NO WAY. %26quot;It%26quot; would be a whole different person, %26amp; for SURE NOT the same one I had originally %26quot;committed%26quot; to. I would NOT feel at all being comfortable w/them anymore as it just would not be the same person. I would end the relationship, no two ways about it...:)
They'd still be the same person inside, as long as they had womens parts I'd be okay with it really.
I'd be out. First of all that's something you should mention right away. Second of all it changes everything. They lied about who they are/were. I don't like liars.

    Plus that's just gross.
It is not something I could support.
I know you are not just now finding out? are you asking now because someone else found out and said something to you now you feel guilty? you been with them this long, so why change it?
I would leave! that person obviously has more problems that the obvious!
I know several people who have transitioned and they are the same on the inside (with the exception of some affects of testosterone for a while). However, my feeling would be that if they didn't tell me up front that they weren't open and honest with me. I would have a serious trust problem with that.
I'd pack up my stuff and make sure I changed my phone number and email and any other way for them to contact me.

Sociology Project: Please answer, I need a certain amount of people's answers :o)?

Tell me EVERYTHING you would have to do to change your behavior if you were a member of a different gender (man or woman) NOT a member of a different sex- in our U.S. Culture.

Basically if you were biologically a woman and wanted to be perceived as a man... what changes would need to be made? Same with for men, if you wanted to be perceived by others as a woman, what changes would need to be made?

Keep in mind APPEARANCE, ATTITUDE, or BEHAVIOR (feel free to add other categories) those are just some to get you thinking.

One example: a man that wants to be perceived as a woman would try to lose weight to fit the %26quot;thin%26quot; idea of being a woman.

A woman that wants to be perceived as a man would act tough (no emotion, strong willed and such).

**Think of how you would help an alien (who has no gender identity) appear to be a man or woman in the United States.

Back up your tips with reasoning as to why you included them

:o) Thank you so much, i'm completing a project!!!
Sociology Project: Please answer, I need a certain amount of people's answers :o)?
As a women I see us being nurturing and gentle so to become a man I would have to retrain myself to be selfish (not selfish but put myself first) and to think directly and definitely. Women can often get side tracked with 'what if...' or things that 'could be' where as I see men only deal with substance that they can see. I would have to let go of inconsecurities, romance, and putting others concerns first. Men tend to be self sured, self reliant, self concerned, self trained and self maintained. Socially I would have to loosen up and be able to joke like a man, put downs, bathroom hummor and all. The hardest would to be to clear my mind and think of nothing like when a man is asked 'what are you thinking?' they truthfully answer 'nothing'.

In college I tried to look like a man for a short while. I don't think I was fooling anyone but I would have to change my hair, baseball caps, maybe hide behind masculine glasses, mens baggy clothes in layers and slouch, strut and be aloft. It would be funny to try to be a metrosexual male, that might be more convincing.

hope this helps and good luck (see female response!)

I would need to tone up meaning I'd probably have an extra payment for gym membership because realistically girls always try to achieve the perfect body portrayed by the media. I'd need to be more opinionated and express my feelings more because girls are sassy and like to talk about things and you would need your own strong opinions on stuff. I'd probably be more needy and asking my parents for a lot more without being so considerate because girls always get what they want or try the best they can to. I'd have to get used to spending money without knowing how to save living check by check for clothes, make-up, accessories, and whatever else that makes a girl feel better about themselves. I'd need to learn how to cry more often in difficult situations and to get myself out of a jam (getting a ticket, getting in trouble by the parents, etc).

That about does it for me. GL on your hw.
I would advise an alien to take on the persona of a female.

    Because they wouldn't know anything.

A male is expected to know something about everything, at least enough that someone doesn't call, 'b@ll$hyt'.

A female is expected or can easily defer any questions by giggling and saying,'I don't know'. And if they are pressured they can just ask a male to explain it to them. Nothing out of line there...
Well, if I wanted to be perceived as a man I guess I would have to start by the obvious of changing my appearance, ie. cutting my hair short, trying to grow facial hair, donning on menswear, etc. I would probably start eating a lot of protein to bulk and have heavy muscle definition as men are suppose to be bulky and strong. But I think the most essential key to becoming a man would be to change my behaviour. I think one would have to be more confident, straightforward, and take more risk. I think I wouldn't have any more inhibitions about sex because the social stimulus that is connected with women and sexuality would be gone as it is socially acceptable for a man to sleep with as many women as they like.

I need at least 10 peoples answers PLEASE!!!! The more the better though!?

First i would make sure that i ended my life.

    Second I would
Generally, women tend to be more sensitive than men, and they are also quick to over react a lot more often.

So, I think that the biggest change that a female would have to make when changing her perception is personality traits.

She'd need to become more laid back and care-free.
om yah in my eyes thats against god changing gender but please go answer mine

Please answer logically, its for a sociology project people!?

i am a male and this is what i would do to try and be a women

    APPEARANCE:

1.because i have short hair i would grow it out to a girlish length because women typically have long hair.

2.i would be women's clothes because if your going to be a women you definately need to look the part.

3.cosmetically i would get everything waxed or at least shaven to preven me from looking like a hairy old transexual prostitute.

4.wear makeup to give me that girlish %26quot;tent%26quot; i guess

5.never wear shorts so that my manly legs will be covered up

    ATTITUDE/BEHAVIOR

1.i would probably start to be more helpful and kind (not that im not now) and in a sense kind of motherly in a way to put of like feminie like feel i guess you could say

2.i would try not to do manly things like sitting with my legs spread apart or lean on a wall or desk or possibly even burt or fart

3.to be more girly i guess i would have to be a little bit more %26quot;flaky%26quot; (not to be sexest) but less to the point and more comforting in deliverence of information or other like things

4.always a positive attitutude because only fat ugly obeses women have bad attitudes.

5.some how make my voice more girly i guess through use of testosterone.

    good luck with your project

  • How can you tell without an utrasound?

so, i wanted to know, how you can tell a babys gender without having an ultrasound? like, are there changes in your body?

    just curious...
How can you tell without an utrasound?
None of the old wives tales about gender are accurate or reliable. Without an ultrasound, the only way to know the gender is to give birth!
How can you tell without an utrasound?
    YOU DON'T!!!!!
you can't tell the gender of your baby without an ultrasound.
You can't tell without an ultrasound. There are changes in your body regardless of the baby being a boy or girl.
there are old tales of ways to find out what it is but they are never for sure. just fun little games to do.
You can't, until you see them when their born.
you can't, there is myths out there but i don't believe them, i believe the only way to tell is by ultrasound.
An ultrasound is one of the only 2 ways to know for sure if you are having a boy or girl. The other one is when they stick a needle into your belly button and take fluid from your womb (or something like that, I forget exactly what they do) And an ultrasound isn't always 100% either. There are wise tales but none of ever been proven to always being true. Some say the heart beat can determine boy or girl, but again none of those are 100% true.
Nope no way to tell. Online tests are fun and old wives tales are fun, but they don't determine anything. Though all the ones I took said girl and I had a girl this time and the last time they were right too. I did not find out for either of my kids. Not from me not wanting to know though. I do say wait and find out though. It makes the experience that much more special.
Know way for knowing for sure, its a 50/50 chance of guessing it right.

there are a few things people do..the ring test, where you have a ring on a peice of string and if it swings one way its a boy, if it swings the other way its a girl

Some people think that you carry higher or lower depending on the sex, Im not so sure on this one, my cousins wife carried really low the first pregnancy, had a boy, carried really high the second and has just had another boy

What you have been doing to move on get thru it

what u felt when u first found out they were gone and what u continue to feel now.

Your gender (my wife think its harder on women)

I am asking this because my best friend and my wife just recently (about 5 months ago)lost her mother(they were very close) at the age of 23 she is having a very hard time i have been watching her in pain and have felt helpless Well the questions i am asking are the ones that she is having the toughest time with so i am looking to get a little info that she might be able to relate to and not feel so lonely The age limit has to do with her and her sisters ages so they that it will be more relatable to them.

Please only SERIOUS ans. from ppl (between the ages of 21-30) that have ACTUALLY had to deal with their own parents death

For one i'm sorry for her loss. I lost my mother when i was 20.I wish i would of spent more time with her. i really loved my mother so i miss her more then ever. I'm 45 years old now this might sound wierd but if she has a picture of her mother take it out and sit with her and talk about the good times they had together.it does work or it does for me.and i still do that to this day. Yes i think it's hearder for women to lose there mother because mothers mean everything to there little girls. And i also lost my father then i was 18.losing your parents is a very hard thing. It sounds like you're doing everything you can just keep being there for her and let her know now much you love her. I hope this helped you. good luck.

I lost my father at 20. I had left home knowing he was ill but not suspecting death-I don't think anyone was. My father didn't seem the type to be susceptible to death. He was part man, part superhero.

The week before he died I had several dreams in which he told me he would see me again. I would wake up thinking I had heard his voice. I was never frightened, just sad. When he did pass on-I wasn't as overwhelmed as the rest of my family. So many people wanted to pay their respects that we had to have a larger room. People (men and women) were openly crying, some came drunk (VFW, LOL), a few women passed out. My mother, sister, brothers and I laughed at the wake where others didn't but we knew my dad the best and just remembering some of the crazy stuff-he would have laughed with us I'm sure.

Since then-I've lived my life. I had a wonderful father who gave me the best part of himself. That was over 20 yrs ago and I still remember him and think of him. I have seen people who can't move on and I often wonder why they are like that.

I think it's easier when you know-you will see them again-it's not forever that they are lost to you. I had that faith and for whatever reason-I had dreamed of my father telling me he would see me again. I guess I believed him even in the dream. If you don't have true faith-then death is a very sad thing indeed.

    It's a bathroom/rest room/locker room question.?

We have women's and we have men's, what do think is the reason for separating them by gender? Could it be sexual tension or just our inability to get over it?

Why or How does the homosexual factor change or not change your reasoning?
    It's a bathroom/rest room/locker room question.?
Some cultures have separated the female from the male due to modesty. Others separate women from men due to health concerns. A large portion of older cultures separate women from men during a woman's monthlies, either due to health reasons or for some religious or cultural significance.

The current trend in the separation of the sexes for restrooms, etc. is not only an idea born from modesty in the Western world, but also (in more modern senses) as a haven. In upscale locales, we see the restroom as a lounge as well, giving women and men time to relax with their friends of the same gender.

As for the homosexual slant to it, all of the people I know who are homosexual either have enough self respect and tact not to openly gawk at people in the restroom. If your concern is that the guy watching you pee is gay, and getting turned on, then chances are, you're being paranoid. Seriously, in most public washrooms, and even in private ones, I would wager most people aren't going to hit on people. They're going to do their business and get back with their lives.
    It's a bathroom/rest room/locker room question.?
Women do not want to see men holding their weenies and peeing and women do not want to be doing such an intimate and private bodily function around strange men. Homosexuality has zero to do with it.
    Modesty.

IMO, men seem to have less of a problem with this particular issue than women seem to.

The homosexual factor does not change my thinking.
    women dont want harassment..
it should be a bathroom for homos
What does the 10 commandment say? Good God next thing we need to worry about is seperating bathroom by how much each person weigh...

  • Is it hard to find someone who actually gives these questions much thought?

hi and thank you for your answer I LOVE YAHOO ANSWERS, sorry about the gender mix up, and i do appreciate your taking the time answer my question, i can see i didn't make some points very clear, my apologies for that as iam not very experienced with these kinds of forums i do better with live responses. anyways i think what you are saying about perfection is there needs to be some kind of conscience purpose to keep the perfection accurate or some reason which shows cause for it to be perfect.

When i say people are perfect it is because no matter how they act,or choose,or make decisions, they will always be perfect because of all thier lifes experiences, that means every single experence they've had. it doesn't mean that thier act, choice or decision with be the best for anything in the future, only that it is perfect for them to come up with those acts, choices, or decisions, they cannot do or make any of those without every experience leading up till that point, i hope iam making myself a little bit clearer on that point, again iam using deffinitions in the dictionary, and the one which says perfection is something without flaws, it is projecting a purpose for it needing to be without flaws, but those flaws got there from some action which again would make the flaws perfect. Even if we dont like it all the good and evil in this world are still perfect, every action or thought comes from a previous reason right before happening, if you bring purpose into it then you are projecting into the future and comparing it to something else, it's kinda like that song which say EVERY THING IS BEAUTIFUL IN IT'S OWN WAY, if you change the word beautiful to perfect it describes everything according to itself. and by seeing this it able you to understand that everything is indeed perfect already whether we like it or not lol. again if you can find something which happens without a reason then it would be imperfect. reason makes the next action or thought perfect. not that it would answer a question the way someone would like to be but it is still perfect.

free will has nothing to do with your surroundings i dont think, if you make a decision, and could go back in time to the exact time you made that decision you would make it exactly the same way. a split second difference would change your experiences and therefore give you a chance to make a different decision, but again all things being the same as when you made the decision you would make the same exact decision, if this is true then where would free will be,. anyways i love discussing issues like these i think it is a great way to spend time as it keeps us and our minds moving and to possible thinking of new things. i know i make long questions and descriptions but thats just the way i am lol take care and thanks for reading this
Is it hard to find someone who actually gives these questions much thought?
    So are you saying that

-When you, for instance, try to do a trick on a bike and fall the decisions you made at that time are still perfect? or

-If you intended to run a mile in 7:00 minutes but instead ran it in 8:15 it is still perfect because it is the best you could do at the given time?

I know the definition of perfection is that the outcome is flawless... But I dont think an outcome would be considered flawless simply because it has a reason for its happenstance.. I think, like I said earlier, perfection is the fluid transition of imagination into reality which then requires the fulfillment of intent... It requires you to project an idea into the future and then requires, I should have probably explicitly stated, a retrospection of the action...

If the outcome of your action doesnt come out as you projected or thought it would then would your decision still be perfect?? Looking back at that 8:15 mile would you say %26quot;Oh, what a perfect run%26quot;? I dont think so... Perfection is hard to achieve because it requires that we have the %26quot;ideal%26quot; faculties to perform the task we desire to achieve and many times we find that we dont... so our actions are never perfect until we have achieved our ideal or perfect state of being (unless of course we happen to be lucky and a rock slides us just to the right and we make the rail on our bike... but luck is not reasoning so this would by your definition not even be perfection)

Do you get where I'm comming from?
Is it hard to find someone who actually gives these questions much thought?
Philosophy is not giving thought to a question, rather it is like thinking up the questions in relation to the answers. Finished in advance. Thus, if you say that every decision is perfect, there would be a perfect outcome, and because everybody is perfect, (God does not make rubbish) all outcomes would be perfect. Thus, the world would be perfect. See the error in the reasoning? The decision you make, is the one you must make, as you state so clearly. Not because it is right or wrong, but because that is how you learn. Some people need the same error 3 or 4 times before they get it, and some only once. And the rules behind the decision are, nature, nurture, expectation, experience, trust, religion, ethnicity, etc. All of them combined to a certain degree. Add more religion and take away some experience and the decision is completely different. You have to look at the garbage that that person is carrying with him/her as baggage. And the fuller the ego is of all that cr@p, the worse the decision becomes. And that relates to religion: %26quot;the sins of the fathers.....%26quot; What did the extended family, teachers, peers, acquaintances teach the child??? You are worthless!

    Peace.
