Part 1: Introduction

1. Are you male or female?

Girl

2. How old are you?

I'm 18

3. Is your sibling (of the opposite gender) older or younger?

He's younger

4. Do you feel that the differences between you and your sibling were taught by your parental figures/guardians?

I don't think they felt the need to explain to me the difference. It just was.

5. Did you have multiple role models or one role model of the same gender while growing up (1-9 years of age)?

The women in my family (about 5 of them)

Part 2: Patterns

6. Your chores specific to you and your sibling has their own set of chores.

I clean, he mows the lawn and takes out trash.

7. Do you find your chores are based upon your gender鈥檚 roles? (Example: girls cooking, boys taking out the garbage).

I've never viewed it as such. I'd rather sweep than mow lawn any day.

8. Have you been discouraged from doing/playing something based upon your gender? (Example: Girls discouraged from vigorous sports, boys discouraged from playing dolls).

Nope. In fact I'm a bit of a tomboy and enjoy playing sports.

9. You spent more time with the parent of your opposite or same gender while growing up?

My mum while growing up, but more recently I've been with my dad due to the divorce

Part 3: Causes

10. Do you feel expectations based on your gender to behave a certain way (gender stereotypical) from our parental figures/guardians?

I guess so, but if I went outside those expectations I doubt anyone would make a fuss over it.

11. Do you feel expectations based on your gender to behave a certain way (gender stereotypical) from society?

Yeah. I hated it as a kid, but now I'm embracing girly clothes and loving it, so I don't mind anymore.

12. Did your parental figures/guardians read you nursery rhymes while growing up?

Oh yeah all the time. Dr. Suess every night.

13. If yes, do you feel they defined you and others of your gender accurately? If no, Do you believe the nursery rhymes would describe you and others of your gender accurately?

I dunno. I always liked the books about the animals more than the ones with people.

Part 4: Consequences and Effects

14. Did you experience a change in self-esteem as you became a teenager/ entered high school?

Yeah, but that was more of a growing out of the awkward puberty stage.

15. Do you like being around children?

No they are rather annoying

16. Do you want to have children when you are older?

I don't rule it out, but I wouldn't mind not having any

Part 5: Conclusion

17. Would you be more comfortable handling a weapon or a baby?

Baby. I get nervous with a lot of weapons.

18. Are sexual/gender differences important to your identity?

No. As an artist my personality means so much more to me.

19. Do you feel you had a lot of freedom in how to behave where gender issues are concerned?

Haha yeah. I even use the men's restroom often if the women's is full or broken. I really don't care.

20. Do you feel that gender roles are equal?

No they aren't. Women really are being held down by idealistic men, but it's okay because I know every girl out there has the knowledge in the back of their head that men would be nowhere without us
